Metal slug series
That said, if the new Metal Slug is as good as SNK’s previous major release, we have the return of another great arcade classic to look forward to sometime in 2020. Whether this will follow the classic pixel style or go for the new 3D style in 2019’s Samurai Shodown remains to be seen. Though Metal Slug on mobile may not scratch the entire itch, an all-new Metal Slug game on consoles by SNK is promising to say the absolute least.
METAL SLUG SERIES FULL
The company came back full force with the successful launch of Samurai Shodown in 2019 and has been putting out a solid lineup of DLC characters for it since. SNK has been on a roll in the last few years. “We will show you a game that is novel as well as faithful to the basics of the series,” Jeon said in a loosely translated statement. However, an actual console game is also in development, and SNK is handling it themselves. According to Inven, SNK Interactive CEO Se-Hwan Jeon announced that a mobile game in partnership with Tencent is almost done. New details on upcoming games in the Metal Slug franchise appeared on Korean website Inven on June 8, 2020. Not only is a mobile game in the works, but SNK could be heading up development on an all-new Metal Slug for consoles targeted for 2020.
METAL SLUG SERIES SERIES
The series is legendary for its over-the-top weapons, enemies, and bullet hell boss fights, but there hasn’t been anything new in Metal Slug for quite some time. Heck, there’s a good chance that it’s the go-to thought for most side-scrolling shooters right behind the classic Contra. Finally you meet a huge devil like creature whose sprite fills the screen as the end boss.Bring up Neo Geo games that aren’t fighters and there’s a good chance that the go-to game is Metal Slug. Also you could have an arctic level where killer penguins attack at every point and the end boss is a giant polar bear who can swallow foes.Īnother underwater level like the cool metal slug 3 one should be included. And the final stage should be the end of the world stage. The level starts with you climbing a volcano, and then entering it, and progressing down. The first level would be a jungle level where you have to kill lions and crocodiles and animals to get through the level and the end boss would be a giant snake!! That would be cool. In this installment, nature and the elements would be the enemy. If SNK, playmore,Sun whatever the makers of the next slug series are going to be called, decide on another slug game, heres the direction it should take.ĭitch the tired morden, mummies, and aliens stroylines, and have a slug with a "80 days around the world" theme. At least this would be origional. it's just a matter of what the programmers decide to do with it is all. Truth be told, Metal Slug is a series that still has a lot left that can be done with it. kind of like a more violent and funny version of Sliders or something. If they really want to keep it odd, Playmore, MEGA or whomever is doing part V, could have it like Ikari II where the characters have entered a dimensional rift and must fight their way to regular world. BUT be fighting other human armies and get away from the alien thing.
METAL SLUG SERIES PLUS
PLUS keep the mutltiple routes through stages. The current side scrolling thing is good, but I'd like for the screen itself in parts to scale and roatate then change perspectives to something like "Devastators" for certain parts of the game (sort of like how CONTRA had those overhead parts) and maybe parts that would just suddenly scale to a more Shock Troopers type set up when having to progress upwards into the screen and more is going on than not. I would like to see MS5 take a slightly different approach to the run-and-gun shooter.
As an MS fan however, aside from the anime thing I mentioned in the Neo Discussions area. I dunno, I just don't see a game like METAL SLUG SAFFARI winning any awards or bringing new ppl into the fray is all. Can't say I have any desire to go killing Lions and Crocs man.
